This program has seen fewer than 100 participants in its first month, with providers noting growing interest as patients seek more control over abortion access amid concerns about birth control failure and potential FDA restrictions.

Telehealth orders for abortion medication have doubled in Washington and 17 other states where abortion remains legal since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. A study by UW School of Medicine researcher Anna Fiastro found that many patients ordering from Aid Access live more than 100 miles from a clinic and are generally very early in their pregnancies, often just two weeks after a missed period.
